Professional Collaborations Policy & Procedure
Statement of Purpose
The Saudi Society for Clinical Pharmacy (SSCP) values the professional collaboration with healthcare professionals, health care societies, academic institutions and governmental sectors at the national and international levels to enable clinical pharmacists to achieve excellence in practice, research, training and education through the development of successful practice models, and dissemination of new knowledge.
Policy

SSCP will collaborate with intra- and inter-professional organizations to deliver novel, cutting-edge intra-professional/ inter-professional development programs for clinical pharmacy specialists

SSCP will establish at least one collaboration with a provider, payer, and research/ researcher organization to expand each organization’s involvement with clinical pharmacists

SSCP will develop a joint position statement/memorandum of understanding (MOU) with one or more medical societies citing the value of collaborating with clinical pharmacists to achieve medication optimization
-
SSCP will promote to payers and providers effective and scalable clinical pharmacist–community pharmacist collaborative practices
Procedure

SSCP will propose professional collaboration with health societies, institutions, organizations and/or payers, health care providers and researcher

SSCP will accept professional collaboration with health societies, institutions, organizations and/or payers, health care providers and researcher
-
Collaborating party shall be a well-known and established party that has a health care related function and vision
-
Collaborations will be through developing a join position statement and signing memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the collaborating parties
-
Joint position statement and MUO should identify:

The validity of the collaboration
-
Both parties’ responsibilities
-
The representative/delegate of each party in the agreed activity
-
Expected deadlines
-

A unified template will be used for all joint position statements and MUOs
-
All position statements and MUOs shall be signed by the chief of both parties and activity delegate

SSCP shall collaborate with any of the following at national and international level:

Governmental sectors, ex: Ministry of health

Private sectors

Professional pharmacy societies
-
Professional medical societies
-
Universities and Collages
-
Hospitals
-
Companies
-
Health care providers
-
Researchers and research centers

Joint position statements and MUOs shall be evaluated every other year

All professional collaborations will be announced to society members through social media channels
-
Both logos of the SSCP and the collaborating party will be displayed in the collaboration related activities

Collaboration activities shall be any of the following, but not limited to
-
Professional development and continuous education

Teaching and training
-
Scientific and financial support of society annual meeting, workshops, courses and other activities
-
Research activates
-
Community awareness
-
-
All society working members can be part of arranging managing and conducting activities agreed on in a professional collaboration

The SSCP chairman will channel the work to the appropriate committee for implementation
The activity delegate will prepare yearly final report on the conducted activity and outcomes
